Ashley filmed many of her scenes with two Yorkshire Terriers, who shared the role of Boi, and insists she developed an appreciation for the dogs – even when they were misbehaving.
“The dogs are really cute in the movie. It was fun working with dogs, but you have to have a lot of patience,” she explained in an interview with British television show Daybreak. “They are just animals so they don’t understand that much and these two dogs – it was their first project ever. They were trained, like, a month before but they were so good and so adorable, you can’t help but fall in love with them.”Ashley shot to fame after landing a role in High School Musical and will always be thankful for the franchise which launched her career. The 25-year-old star has remained close friends with her castmates including Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron and she regularly meets up with them.
“It was pretty insane; it was kind of like a little dream,” she said when asked how it feels to have been involved with the High School Musical movies. “It’s weird, it was the best time because all of us were really good friends and we had such a good time filming those movies and we had no idea they would become so successful. I feel so lucky and blessed and we have to thank the fans for that.
